Traffic Jam

Traffic jam is a long queue of vehicles on the roads. It is a common affair in the big cities and towns, particularly in Dhaka city. It is one of the major problems of modern times. It happens when different vehicles went to move ahead of each other. There are many reasons for the traffic jams. Many vehicles moving on the same road at the same time cause traffic jam. Besides, our traffic police are not sincere. They often don't do their duties sincerely. The drivers are indifferent to traffic rules. They try to get more passengers stopping their buses here and there. Moreover, too many rickshaws playing on the street is another reason for a traffic jam. Again, the roads and streets are often dug for development work. This is also a season for a traffic jam. Many people fail to attend office duty in time due to traffic jams. The worst victims are the patients carried in the ambulances to the hospitals or clinics. Transportation of the daily commodities gets delayed. Traffic jam can be lessened if some measures can be taken properly. Widening the streets, one-way movement, making flyover at the main crossing, reducing the number of rickshaws can solve the problem a lot. Above all, the traffic authority should be more active to enforce traffic rules and maintain the discipline on the roads.
